The Bill Project
In ELA, we created a bill and chose a topic that speaks to you. I chose to shorten the time for immigrants to become a U.S. Citizen. I chose this topic because I thought it would be a good topic, I thought that if we shorten the time for immigrants to become U.S. Citizen we could have more people coming to the U.S. to become free citizens, to learn about our country our origin, get education, healthcare and jobs. I thought this would be a great idea for a bill and this project relates to the 21st Century Skill Civic Literacy and Engagement because it shows us that we are participating in a government/Democracy and we understand how a government/Democracy works. This project was very informative and taught me just the tip of the iceberg of how a government works.
In ELA, we did another project that was about a book our class reading a book which was called Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. We had a few ways we could do this project either adding extra emails or texts from the 2 main characters or adding 2-3 book pages that came after the book to see how they were doing basically seeing how their lives are now. In this project, I was partnered with Gabriel and we chose the option of doing the emails back an forth between the 2 main characters Simon(Gabriel) and Blue(Levi). The 21st century skill that was used for this project was Communication. This used a lot of communication skills because we had to communicate between each other on how we were going to write about the 2 characters. We figured it out and I was proud with the results.
